Zen Focus is built to collect as little as possible. This page explains exactly what does and doesn't happen when you use it.
No account, no sign-up, no forms. Zen Focus doesn't use cookies and doesn't run any analytics or tracking scripts. Your tasks, your archive, and anything you type stay entirely in your own browser — none of it is ever sent to us or anyone else.
Unlike a typical preference-only setup, Zen Focus stores real content locally, via your browser's localStorage — not cookies:
All of it lives only on your own device. We have no server, no database, and no way to see any of it. Clearing your browser's site data for Zen Focus removes all of it permanently — there's no backup or recovery, since nothing is ever sent anywhere to back up in the first place.
Zen Focus is built to support two unobtrusive ad slots served through an ad network (a leaderboard banner and a rectangle placement). As of this writing, both are inactive — no ads are currently being shown, and no advertising-related data is being collected.
If and when they're activated, the ad network may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, which can include information about your visit for the purpose of ad personalization. You can control ad personalization directly through Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of personalized advertising generally through the Digital Advertising Alliance. This policy will be updated with more specific detail before those slots are turned on.
Zen Focus loads the JetBrains Mono, Inter, Lora, and Cormorant Garamond typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading any web font involves a request to the font provider's servers, which may log standard technical information like your IP address, as is normal for any web request — Google Fonts does not use this to track you across other sites.
Zen Focus is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because we don't collect personal information from anyone at all.
If Zen Focus's data practices change — most likely when the ad slots above are activated — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date at the top will reflect that.
